3D printing for schools and students
A Design and Technology prototype due next week, a class set of the same part, or badges for the whole club: upload the file, see the price straight away, and it’s posted to school or home.
Coursework prototypes
For GCSE and A level Design and Technology, BTEC, college or university projects: save your model as an STL or 3MF from Fusion, Onshape, Tinkercad, SketchUp or Blender, and upload it on the order page. You’ll see the size and the price before you give us an email address.
- One of us checks every file before it prints. If a wall is too thin or a part won’t stand up, we email you before we start, so there’s time to fix it.
- Most orders are printed and posted within 5 working days, then Royal Mail takes 2 to 3 working days. Order a week or two before a deadline, and put the date in the notes at checkout.
- Check the size under the preview before you order. If it’s 1,000 times too small, the units are usually why, and the file guide shows how to fix it.
- Walls at least 1.2 mm thick and small parts at least 2 mm across print cleanly.
- Different colours for different parts are free: paint them in Bambu Studio or Orca Slicer and send the 3MF.
Class sets and clubs
- The same part for the whole class: the price per piece goes down the more you order.
- A name on each one: name tags and badges with a different name on every piece, from a list. strand commercial handles those, with a proof before anything is printed.
- Your school or club badge can go on a print, in its own colours, raised or pressed in.
- Several files in one order post together for one delivery charge, so a group’s prints are better value together.
Paying and receipts
Pay by card at checkout, with no account needed. Under 18? Ask a parent, guardian or teacher to place the order for you. Tick “Buying for a business, school or club?” and your school’s name goes on the order and its receipt, which you can print or save as a PDF for the finance office. For a bigger job, tell us what you need and we’ll reply with a price and a link to pay.
Materials for school projects
PLA suits most models and display pieces. PETG for parts that bend a little, get wet or go outside, and ABS for anything that gets warm. Choosing a material compares them. Not sure? Say what it’s for in the notes and we’ll check before printing.
Every order is posted tracked by Royal Mail. UK delivery is free on orders over £40.
