How our prices work
Every price for a print of your own file is worked out the same way, from the model itself: the filament it takes, the time it spends on a printer, and a little for setting up. Here’s how, with the actual rates.
What goes into a price
When you upload a file, we measure the model and work out how much filament it needs and how long it will take to print, at the material, strength and quality you choose. Then:
- PLA filament
- £0.06 a gram
- PETG filament
- £0.07 a gram
- ABS filament
- £0.07 a gram
- Engineering materials, on request
- £0.10 to £0.50 a gram, 50% extra, and £15.00 setup per order
- Printer time
- £2.50 an hour
- Printer time past 24 hours
- £5.40 an hour, as a print that long keeps a printer from everything else
- Smallest price for a piece
- £6.00
- Extra fine, on the 0.2 mm nozzle
- 10% extra, for changing nozzle
- Speciality finishes
- 10% extra
- Colour changes
- Free, however many
- Adding your artwork
- £4.00 for each logo, picture or piece of lettering
- More of the same
- 5% off from 10, 10% from 25, 15% from 50, 20% from 100
A piece never costs less than the smallest price, and a stronger fill or finer layers always add what they cost on top of it, even on a small piece. There’s no setup fee, except on the engineering materials. Our own designs have a fixed price, shown on their page, with the same discounts for more of the same.
Colours, logos and artwork
Colour changes are free, and there’s no limit: a print can have as many colours as it needs. Send a 3MF with its colours painted in, or tell us in the notes which parts go in which colour.
To put a logo, a picture or some lettering on a print, add it on the order page: in colour, raised from the surface or pressed into it. Each piece is charged once, as in the table above, however many prints you order.

Priced just as an upload would be, in PLA at the standard strength and quality, before delivery:

These are solid blocks, the most filament a shape that size can take. Most real models are partly hollow or have curves, so they cost less. Upload yours on the order page for its exact price.
Ways to pay less
- Order more of the same: each one costs less as the quantity goes up.
- Light strength for things that won’t take weight, like display pieces.
- Standard quality unless you need the finest detail: Fine layers take longer to print.
- A shape that stands without supports: overhangs need supports underneath while they print, which take filament and time. We price your model standing the way that needs fewest, as we’d print it.
- Several files in one order: they post together, for one delivery charge.
- Basic and Matte colours cost nothing extra.
