3D printed gifts

A 3D print makes a good present when it’s clearly theirs: in their colours, with their name on it, or a model of something they love. Here’s how to choose one, and how to send it straight to them.

Making it theirs

  • Their colours. Our designs come in over 180 colours, and some let you choose a colour for each part and see it turn in 3D before you order.
  • Their name. Designs that can be personalised have a box for lettering on their page, such as a name on a keyring or a number on a tag.
  • Something of their own. Found a model of something they love on Printables or MakerWorld? Check its licence allows printing it, then upload it on the order page to see the price straight away. You can add a logo, a picture or lettering to it too.
  • Something they’ll use. Things for the desk, the home or the games table get used every day, long after the wrapping’s gone. Browse the designs.

Not sure what they’d like?

Give a strand gift card, from £10. It’s emailed as soon as it’s paid, with your message, so it’s never too late: they choose a design and its colours, or send us a model of their own.

Sending it straight to them

  1. At checkout, tick Sending it as a gift? and write your message. We print it and pop it in the parcel.
  2. Tick Deliver to a different address? and add theirs.
  3. That’s it. There are never any prices in the parcel, and your receipt comes to you by email.

Getting it there in time

Most orders are printed and posted within 5 working days, then it’s over to the courier. For a birthday or a date that matters, order a week or two ahead.

  • Printing a model of your own? A person checks every file before it prints, and if anything needs changing we’ll email you first, so leave a little extra time.
  • Need it by a certain day? Put the date in the order notes at checkout, and we’ll get in touch if it’s going to be tight.

For a team or a big day

Buying for a team, a wedding or an event? strand commercial does names on every piece, your logo, or a batch of the same thing, with lower prices the more you order.

If something’s not right

If it arrives damaged or isn’t right, get in touch with the order number and a photo, and we’ll put it right. Our designs can be returned unused within 14 days of delivery. Prints of your own model, lithophanes made from a photo, or anything with lettering added are made just for them, so they can only be returned if they’re faulty.
